I really do love this piece, very good job. But I'm sorry I have to correct your story here, I've had an obsession with Medusa since I was 9 and heard the story told many ways, but what I believe happened is this...
Medusa was a very beautiful young maiden, a virgin, that was vain of her own beauty mainly because Athena adored her and envied her beauty. So yes a Goddess herself envied her! Her best asset was her hair, she was known for it. While Athena was away and not protecting Medusa, Poseidon lured her to the sea, tricked her, and then RAPED her. She did NOT sleep with him willingly! Athena then was upset with Medusa as she was no longer a virgin, no longer pure, etc. Also it's said Poseidon raped her in Athena's temple so that's another reason why she got enraged. And that is when she was turned into the monster, BUT her beauty in her face was NOT taken. The curse was she was STILL beautiful but that no one could look upon her beauty, that is why she turned them all to stone. Her hair was her best asset so was turned to the snakes. It was said that her sisters and mother was already monsters quite like what she was turned into, just she wasn't until Athena turned her that way. But yea, haha I digress... I really do love this, and I'm planning to get a tat soon of Medusa on my ribs/side, do you do commissions? And can you do a full body version of her? I have in my mind exactly how I want it, just every pic I find isn't exactly it. I definitely would want her beautiful/sexy haha, with the serpents tail and in a certain pose. I'm thinking about drawing a rough idea myself, but haha I'm not as good at drawing this way! So envious!
